Glasshouse Mountains

From left to right, Jared, Chris and Cole climbed down to a very small rock ledge and this was the final feat that they all shared in a game where they kept seeing where the most dangerous rock to stand on was.
A beautiful view of the landscape. Don't mind the shorts, they are plaid meets flowers in an all out war of ugliness.

Some of the Glasshouse Mountains off in the Distance, we climbed Ngungun.
This is the crew we assembled to go hiking.  People representing Austraila, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Tennessee.

The Great Barrier Reef-Underwater Version

Not a great picture, but that was a pretty cool looking fish.

This fish was all of the rainbow colors and I couldn't quite get it to turn around the rite way, I asked nicely.
Heaps of fish.
They were everywhere!!!  But they never touched me.

A clam up close and personal, I got to pick it up when I was scuba diving.
Will the real Nemo please swim up???  This is a sea anenome and a clownfish in it.  Nemo is protected by the sea anenome because if any other fish rubs up against it it secretes a poisonous venom onto the fish's scales and it will kill them.  Has no effect on humans, I touched it and my face is practically in it to get this picture!
The reef how it is terreced and it looks like a mini canyon underwater.
I can't remember that yellow fish's name, but they looked sweet.  The Parents have the fish chart if your dieing to know.

Hamilton Island

The airstrip we landed on...it wasn't that big.
Our hotel we were in the hotel on the most left.  The parents hiked the mountain behind the mountain but I decided to take a nap.  Ooo and people only drive golf karts on the island, including the fire and rescue department.

The view from the hotel balcony.
The view from the hotel balcony.
Some boast in the harbor and some houses with very nice views on the hillside.

Banjo Paterson

AWwwww.
The world renowned Whitehaven Beach.  The #3 beach in the world.  The sand is 98% silicon.  and it's white, there one you couldn't guess.  Anyway the sand stays a warm temperature and not a scorching temperature even when the sun is shining down on it all day so it's very comfortable.  TK and I played frisbee on the beach.  The water was very warm and you could see right down to the bottom pretty much anyway you looked and parts of the reef were not far away.  We snorkeled at Chalkies Beach just before this and I saw Nemo and his family!!!  All of the pictures of fish underwater are being developed and thanks to my amazing girlfriend I had an underwater camera!
Interesting story as to how the boat got it's name, but I seemed to forgot it already.  They said it's written on the back of the Australian 10 dollar bill, so i'll bring one of those home if I have any left.
The Banjo Paterson is on the right.
I hate this bird, it woke me up every morning at 6am to the most annoying sound and it tried to each our food all the time.

The Great Barrier Reef

An adventure we would soon embark on, we thought the next day, but it turned into two day.s
Fish.
Cruseing back on the FantaSea.
Good shot of the rents at reefworld.
The submarine that you could go one and see all the different types of fish and coral. Amazing!!!
People getting ready to snorkel.
The enterance that I would take to go scuba diving.
Scuba diving preparation room...it's classified, but I had security clearance.

TK with wine and nibbles working off more jet lag.  It seemed to be a theme.  I think he just wanted to eat nibbles and drink wine.

Fraser Island

A gorgeous sunset and the driver of the ferry said that if we came during the wale watching season from september to january we would have multiple spottings of humpback whales on our ride back.  The whales bring their offspring and teach them as they mature in hervey bay.
The ferry.
We are now out of the rainforest and into euchalytptis trees forest (gum trees, but not the gum you chew...I did ask)
Action shot going through the rainforest.
A nice beach shot.
TK in this river thingy...I don't know what to call it, but it comes out of the rainforest and drains into the ocean via the beach.
The ship wrecked in 1935 and right after a couple held there wedding there, thought that was pretty cool.  It was obviously still intact when they were there.  The salt does quite the damage to the steel eehhh?
I saw the posts and I had to do the karate kid, some nice rock work...I wasn't talking about my muscles, but the background.
Amazingly a fresh water late...lake allorn if i remember correctly, it has a blackish tint to it because the trees surrounding it are oolong trees...for all of you tea buffs out there oolong tea is black and so this water is basically black tea in the middle of an island on the ocean.  Riddle me that.
Ok, this is the start of the tour of fraser island.  I'm gonna take you on a short summary of the island.  This is a grasslands on the island used by the armed forces to train the marines back in the day.

Parents arriving

This is our tour bus that we took from hervey bay via ferry to fraser island.  Tina was slightly excited to see fraser island.
More beautiful camera work, I'd hate myself for it, but why?
Me enjoying not staying in a backpackers.  I will not reveal the details as to whether or not it accidently made it into my bag or not.
Here is the best shot of the waterfall i believe i have.  Most of them don't capture the entire thing because it's so dang huge...that's what she said.  Kondalilla Falls.
Alrite, guess who arrived w/ some nice jet lag...the parents!  We went hiking in Mooloolah valley to see a nice waterfall that was 80 meters high.  Great hike!
