Sydney Opera House

The view from out in the harbor, Its a beautiful building.
View from the side, just leaving the harbor.
This is the backside that looks out into sydney's harbor. We took a tour and we got to see the 5 completely different performing centers. We got to watch and hear the Sydney Orchestra rehearsing for their concert which was later that nite. The sounds were so smooth and amazing.
This is the geometric solution that the architects finally arrived at for the building of the Opera House. If I remember correctly it was finished in 1973 and it was started some 13 or 14 years earlier under the assumption that it would take 3 years to build and about $1 millon. It later turned out to be much longer and the final cost was $102 million. So I was pretty sure than just about anyone could've gotten a better estimate on the dollar amount. They went over budget, no big deal the place is a landmark now. And just a sidenote, the tiles on the roof are self-cleaning-how sweet is that?
The view from the front entrance.
